Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) Review

2015 has just begun, but I can almost guarantee Kingsman: The Secret Service will be the biggest surprise of the entire year. This movie is seriously insane and I mean that in the best way possible.

Scott Pilgrim meets James Bond meets John Wick. Yeah, that's one way to describe  Kingsman: The Secret Service.

This film is an absolute blast. The action sequences are so well done. It makes you feel as though you are part of them. I literally felt like I was standing right next to these guys watching them go to town on each other. When you have an action set piece with this song playing in the back ground, you know the movie is awesome.

Along with this being a great action film, it's also pretty damn hilarious. I laughed out loud countless times through out the film and a lot of those scenes involved Samuel L. Jackson. Mr. Jackson is the best James Bond villain we will never get. He was absolutely hysterical as Richard Valentine. Colin Firth is as bad ass as he's even been. I also think we will be seeing a lot more of Taron Egerton in these upcoming years. He does a pretty fantastic job.

Up until about a week ago I had no idea Matthew Vaughn directed this movie. When I first saw a trailer for this film, I pretty much just wrote it off as a shitty beginning of the year action film (was I ever wrong). I was also unaware this was based on a comic book. Once I found out Vaughn was the director, this was based on a comic book, and the really good early reviews; I myself became very excited to see this film. Lucky for me, I was able to get a ticket to a free screening. And I am beyond glad I did. A little word advice to everyone out there: GO SEE THIS MOVIE.! I'm off to go buy myself a suit.

Rating: 4.5/5
